I have been partaking in arts and crafts since I was a little girl. When I was 8 years old, my Aunt Opal (my mom’s sister) taught me to crochet while I was riding in the back seat of her black old-time car. My aunt was in the front passenger seat and my cousin was driving. I still remember my aunt turning around in her seat to instruct me on how to make a chain stitch. She would check on me periodically to see how I was doing. I made a very long crocheted chain that day, which was the forerunner of many, many crocheted projects spanning over several decades (uh-oh, now I sound old!). Not only do I love to crochet, but also make or do just about anything in the arts and crafts department.
