I’m not kidding you! I just got home last week and unloaded the RV completely. Now here in Florida we’re prepping for a hurricane. Gee whiz! So, yesterday was spent reloading the RV and getting ready to evacuate if needed. I learned an important lesson: not to wait to gather supplies, like food and water, and be sure to gas up all your vehicles when the hint of a tropical storm is lurking in the Atlantic waters. Even though this town is not a huge metropolis, gas and bottled water are on the sparse side of the spectrum. Now we wait to see where Hurricane Dorian is headed so we’ll know whether to go or stay. I don’t have much experience with hurricanes. The concern in Iowa was tornadoes and I recall hovering in the basement of our farmhouse on several occasions. Not my favorite pastime!
The word of the day for me is: Courage. I want to try my best to be courageous through the stress of waiting for the hurricane to hit or miss. Additionally, the word, courage, brings to my mind a favorite Bible verse:
Joshua 1:9 ESV
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened and do not be dismayed. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
Courage. I like that word. To all of you out there, whether you’re on hurricane watch or not, courage is your word, too. Believe!
