I’ve been thinking about birthdays…remember when we were kids and couldn’t wait until our birthday? Those days seem so long ago…the days of being excited about our birthday. One of my favorite birthdays was when I turned 4 years old. I recall making my birthday list several months before the date of my birthday and topping the list was an Annie Oakley outfit, which included a hat and guns (cap guns, of course!). When I was a kid, I loved watching Annie Oakley on television. She was my hero and I wanted to be just like her when I grew up. There is probably many of you readers who don’t have a clue who Annie OakIey is, so I have included a link where you can read about her. Click here. I wanted to mention that there was a difference between the real Annie Oakley and the television (TV) series Annie Oakley, something I didn’t realize until much later in life. My childhood admiration was based on the TV series Annie Oakley. She was not afraid; she was bent on doing good for humanity and she could shoot a gun better than any guy. Plus, she wore a cool outfit! To read more about the TV series Annie Oakley, click here.
